Q: What are the main types of Visa?
A: The two main types of visa used by Europeans to emigrate to the United States are the E-2 Treaty Investor Visa and the L1-A Intra-Company Transfer Visa. Generally an E-2 visa is used when the investors entering the United States wish to either purchase or start up a qualifying business. and an L1-A visa generally appropriate for a manager or executive on a business who is re-locating to the United States to work for the same or an affiliate employer for which they worked outside the USA for at least one year within the preceding three years. While the L-1A Visa is not intended to be a vehicle for investors to transfer themselves to the US, such transfers are in fact common.
